What happens if I cancel my webhosting account?

Posted on May 20th, 2012 by admin

I’d like to own my domain name without having to pay for webhosting. Is that possible? Can I cancel my GoDaddy webhosting account without losing the domain name?

Hosting and domain reg are two separate things, you can cancel hosting but keep the domain with GoDaddy – or you can ask them for a release code so that you can move the domain registration elsewhere. If you keep the domain with GoDaddy, you can park it with them or point it at the hosting server that you eventually choose using the nameserver DNS settings

Can you use a webhosting company is if you are a web designer?

Posted on May 18th, 2012 by admin

Please don’t laugh at this question, I have no idea. If Someone wanted to be a web designer and help small companies design websites. I guess you would work for yourself and be contractor. But you used a webhosting company to build the sites, is that legal? can you do that?
yeah your right Hussein. I just wondered if it was ok. I am good at creating sites but I would use other webhosting tools, so yes the company could do theirselves but some people don’t want to take time in doing that.

i assume that you mean "use the webhosting companies web development tools" . well theres nothing wrong there, but what stops small companies from doing that themselves? the purpose of being a freelance web-developer is that you design creative and unique websites for companies, and if u use those templates of web designing from those companies, that doesnt really make u a creative freelance web developer.

however, if u meant that u need web hosting services for those companies, normally, those companies seek out their own web hosts, and simply hire you to build their site, but if a company hasn’t done that, why don’t you approach a certain web hosting company and tell them what you do, and say that you will bring all your customers to them after developing their sites, if the web host company gives you a commission from each client you bring, thus ull earn extra income like that.

How can i earn money by webhosting?

Posted on May 16th, 2012 by admin

Friends please tell me how i can earn money by webhosting and how much i have to pay for domain?

Domain cost you approximately Rs.500 for a .com domain.

You Can sell on Ebay, Indiatimes, Rediff…. and make extra money. As these sites already have a huge member base you sell to captive buyers. You can source from nearest Wholesale Markets and buy in reasonable volumes and get good prices. You can also get the products drop shipped. Where you just use information from the drop shippers site and create listings on the above sites. Whenever you sell you buy from the drop shipping company and they ship it to your client directly. You make the difference in selling and buying price creating a profit. Using dropshipping you don’t have the risk of dead stock and huge investments.

"Indiadropshipping.com – Simplifying Sourcing for Retailers! Now Sell online on eBay, indiatimes, rediff, junglee or own online stores without maintaining an inventory or making regular runs to the post office or courier office. You sell the product and we ship it for you to your customer in your own name. No need to let your customer know that we are the suppliers. You can become a retailer without needing to invest large amounts of money. You can start a business with very little risk. You don’t have to carry inventory or pay for inventory upfront-if the product doesn’t sell, you don’t have to buy it. You don’t have to buy packaging materials and shipping labels, nor will you need a shipping account. You purchase products at wholesale pricing and set your own retail prices. What is the normal rate for webhosting?

Posted on May 10th, 2012 by admin

I just got charged a total of $133 for a year of webhosting with fatcow. Apparently the rate I had when I first signed up with was a discounted rate which is why I was charged so much this time. That seems a little steep for me to manage a website that is not even making any money. Is this a "normal" price? I’ve had this website for about 2 1/2 years now and it’s never been this expensive.

That’s an average renewal price.
The actual renewal price at FatCow is $107.40/year but you probably have some additional service added and that’s the reason it’s $133, but you could check with them.

Most web hosts offer heavily discounted introductory prices to attract new customers and then renew at their real prices. This price they charged you is pretty standard.

P.S. You could switch to another host like iPage which is very similar to FatCow if it’s not to much hassle and get their discounted price. They have a huge discount right now, one year of hosting for $35.40 ($2.95/month) at http://www.webhostingdiscounts.org and you can get the maximum three years of hosting at this price.

Are there any webhosting affiliate programs that pay out immediately at your request?

Posted on February 14th, 2012 by admin

Or do they all have a certain day of the month when they pay/minimum payout?

Not sure what products you may take interest in reselling, but if you are promoting software or eBooks on your sites, then please check out Regnow. Once you have joined in the affiliate program (Free), you will receive an account for tracking the sales, clicks and downloads on your site, etc. Regnow always pays out the commissions to affiliate on the 1st or 2nd day of each month. The vendors usually offer more than 50% or even 80% commissions for each copy of software you have sold. Feel free to explore more: http://regnow.com.

Is there any free webhost that has FTP and allows me to host game servers?

Posted on January 19th, 2012 by admin

I have VC:MP = Vice City Multiplayer. For those who don’t know, it is a free multiplayer game. I just want a free host that will allow me to host my website and game server together. I only want to host 1 server only. I also need FTP access.

All those web hosting companies who are offering Free Hosting they keep Free Hosting features limited in MySQL Data Bases, PHP and FTP accounts.

You can try this one this is best and I am already using this.

There are several others but they suspend your account if you don’t login back within 3 months. Also they are strict in other issues.
