WEBHOSTING services ? Any recommendation ?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

I would like to shift from one host and look for a better one. My current host is outdated and the prices and features too are outdated. I see so many offers for hosting at much better pricing and better features so I am confused after some search and reviews that I read.
I have a OSCOMMERCE setup installed with a database that is working fine now.
I once attempted to move to one new host (HOSTICAN) and even though they said it was simple, it turned out that it was not as easy as they claimed it to be. There seemed to be some problems in getting the database to work in the new host setup…so after the technical guys at Hostican told me I needed a developer as they could not do anything more, I had to return to my old host.

Any good ideas and recommendations ?

1and1.com.

Reasonable price, large provider and very good service.

What is the best webhosting site for those who are computer illiterate?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

I work for a high school ministry at my church and am wanting to create a website to point the parents to for all the information they need. I’ve been looking at justhost.com and bluehost, as well as others, even homestead. Does anyone know of a site like these that offers very user-friendly website design, as I know nothing when it comes to creating a webpage. Thanks for your help!

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb has the best offer right now. It’s on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them. (like www.yourwebsite.com)

Their hosting plan includes web builder, so you can create your site just by drag and drop (without any programming), or you could install WordPress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

How can I create a website without using a webhost?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

Is there any way at all to make a website withOUT using a webhost? I’m really sick of the webhost that either a) cost too much or b) don’t let you customize your own website using HTML and things…

Well here are your options:

A) Host it from you computer meaning that you must keep your computer running all the time for people to see your site, you must tell your internet provider about what your doing, and it put’s are and tear on your computer mean the life of your computer will not be as long.

B) Find a a good free host, I use 110mb Hosting. There free and this is what they offer:

110MB– http://www.110mb.com/

5Gb of Disk Space and 300GB of bandwidth
Dual Xeon & Opteron based Servers
PHP 5 – FREE!
FTP (chmod enabled) – FREE!
Sendmail (PHP Mail) – *Must activate
Your Own Domain Hosting – FREE!
Safe Mode OFF – FREE!
CGI/Perl – *Must activate
SSI – FREE!
MYSQL 5 – *Must activate
IonCube & Zend Support – FREE!
NO popups, spam or ads ANYWHERE
Template Driven Site Builder
Site promotion guides – FREE!
Python – *Must activate

The *Must activate means you must pay for it, 110mb but the fee is great, you buy the things you want, like:

Sendmail ON $9.00
Turn ON MySQL Database Support $9.95
Turn ON .htaccess Support $9.00
Turn ON CGI/Perl/Python/Sendmail/Htaccess $9.00
Fsockopen ON $7.00
1-Click Backup ENABLE $7.00

and you get them for life, so buy them once and you can use them for ever view list:

Option B is a lot easier but it’s up to you to make the decision.

Is there actually money being made by being a webhosting, domain registration reseller ?

I would think there would be a lot of competition there, it’s relatively easy to set up as a business. But I’m just guessing.

Where can I find good cheap webhosting?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

I know this has been asked before but I also have certain requests.
-Uses Paypal
-Bills Monthly (ONLY)
-Cheap (under $10 a month)
-Allows PHP, MYSQL, and mass emailing
-Decent amount of space
-No popups
-Little or no lag
-No ADs

If you give me a site that I can use, you will get your 10 points =)

You can find an entire list of cheap web hosting providers and compare what they offer here:

The fourth one on that list bills for less than $10/month and can be paid through Paypal.

How to link a free webhosting to a paid domain?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

ive subscribed to a paid domain which doesnt have a web hosting plan. However, ive subscribed to a free web hosting plan. how do i use the host for the domain? Thank you!

it depends; most of the free hosting providers give URLs like:

http://freehosting.com/blahblah/sitename

here you can’t change your domain name servers to be pointed to something like this. if your domain registrar company allows you to have a simple HTML page for the domain, one of the ways would be putting a redirection code in this page; however few domain registrars do this for domain names. you’d fine some name servers that also offer forwarding. they can also get a domain name and forward it to a URL.

Are there any free webhosting companies that will allow me to upload exe files?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

I’m a budding programmer(java), and I want to upload completed projects as a kind of CV or portfolio style page, but most free webhosting companies only allow image and video files. I’m low on cash so I can’t shell out for a paid service, does anyone know of any free hosting sites that aloow exe and application files to be uploaded?

There are tons of free web hosting companies but they apply some restrictions which may not allow you to upload exe files.
Try to get cheap and reliable hosting service, my friend has small business and he is using hosted service from Onthenetoffice.
