I’m looking for something like yahoo geocitites, or what i used to use, 3host.biz

3host.biz was awesome but went down, it had like 20 gigs storage, free, unlimited bandwith, yeah
webs looks pretty cool, but im more interested in a place to dump and store my files more than anything, something that may have a file manager or whatever, basically so i can acess my files anywhere

im planning to have a webhost and i currently registered to a free webhost to try. im planning to try to attach a forum on it but im not familiar on how to do it. does anyone here can help on how to do it.

Like you know there is lot’s of junk on internet… Pedophilia websites, internet piracy (music, movie, game, software etc…)
Drug sell on the net, Illegal Firearm selling website.

I will like to create (even if it’s a huge goal that concern lot’s of thing) to create a fondation that will simply search websites that are illegal and (here is the complex thing) shut it down the public access to this website with the webhosting or the internet provider access give to the site.

Someone already said it, you don’t need a law to do it just a really good hacker. If you really want a law then you have to type up an Abstract of what you are wanting to do then present it to your senator and if they think it’s worth looking into, they will draft a much better outline known as a Bill and present it to Congress to be voted on. It take a lot of time but if it’s good enough and they see that it’s worthy of being a law then it will become one but in time.

It depends on the purpose of the website. If it’s a personal web page for your enjoyment, there isn’t a problem using a free web page.

On the other hand, if you own a business and want a web page to represent that, and draw in customers, some are turned off the the continuous stream of ads that always come with a ‘free’ website.

In some cases your ISP offers a free amount of space for a website, so check with them also.

Can i pay with a check (year in advance) instead of a credit card for web hosting?

Maybe other web hosting companies would offer you facilities to pay, like using a check. But as for Yahoo! Web Hosting, you can only pay with a valid credit card.
