Hi all, can someone help me out please?

Well I have a domain from godaddy..
I also have web hosting on a different company.

Now how do I use the domain from my godaddy to link it up to the files in the web hosting?

please advise, much appreciated!

Hi,

You need to add your domain name as a "add on" domain to your hosting A/C’s control panel. Your hosting A/C then gives you the name servers such as NS1.YOURHOSTINGCOMPANY.COM and NS2.YOURHOSTINGCOMPANY.COM make note of these names carefully.

Log in to your account at Godaddy now, open domain manager and change the default name servers of the domain name to the ones you made note of. You may need to wait upto 72 hours for changes to take effect.

I think most people use the Google Analyticator plugin for wordpress.

1. Log into your wordpress admin page. On the dashboard left nav menu, click on Plugins. After it expands, choose Add New.
2. Type analytics in the search field, and click the button to search.
3. In the results list, Google Analyticator usually shows up at the top. On the right side is an Install link. Click it.
4. When the popup screen appears, click the red Install Now link in the upper right.
5. After the install is done, go back to your admin dashboard. Click on Settings to expand it. Then click on Google Analytics. (This is where you configure Analyticator.)
6. In another browser tab, make sure you are logged in to google analytics.
7. In wordpress, click the link in the Authenticate with Google section. Give wordpress permission to connect to your google account.
8. In the dropdown, choose your desired analytics profile. (Some people have more than one, but you might just have one.)
9. Choose "Enabled" in the "Google analytics logging is" field.
10. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and click the save changes button.

Mine is already set up, so I’m not able to walk through the last few steps to verify they’re perfect. But I did this just the other day, and this is how I remember it. Good luck.
