Best Linux for server hosting?

Posted on January 30th, 2011 by admin

I’m wandering for which Linux is good as a server hosting OS?
Is it Fedora? or Ubuntu? or anything else…
Which linux is mostly used by WebHosting Providers?

A friend of mine uses Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Edition and thoroughly recommends it (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Edition is supported until April 2015)

HTML code for a search bar?

Posted on January 28th, 2011 by admin

I want to create a search bar for my site out of HTML. My old webhosting provider (Geocities) had the code on it, but then Geocities closed… Now I need to find my own code. I tried the site I had gotten the old code from, but the page mysteriously disappeared….

I don’t want a Google search bar, they don’t seem to work for me. I would like a search bar where I can add the pages URL to the HTML code itself, and it would search for it. My old HTML site had something like that, but I’m stumped. I REALLY don’t want to have to use a drop-down menu, but if I have to… Well, I guess I will. I figured I’d check here first. HELP!?

How disruptive would it be to switch webhosts?

Posted on January 21st, 2011 by admin

I am not happy with my current webhost provider.

I have 8 sites, a bunch of mySql databases and php programs running.

How disruptive would it be to switch hosting companies? Should I expect some service outages?

Or is there a way to do this that would be transparent to my visitors / customers?

Any recommendations on webhosting companies? I particularly need databases and reliable and responsive service.

unless you are using an redirecting url that would make it transparent there would be a slight disruption and www.mediafire.com is a great web host and it is free also for a transparent transition try co.nr i also use them (for co.nr to use their service you just need to give them a small free advertisement to make them happy)

how to review webhosting?

Posted on January 16th, 2011 by admin

i came across a webhosting provider named hostdomainshere.com and thedomail.com i want to know how to review the hosting providers.

The Webhostingbreak.com is a good source of the information you are looking for. The reviewer has a list of some of the top hosting companies in the industry. hhttp://www.webhostingbreak.com/list/cheap-web-hosting/. They have different criteria to select the best web hosting companies and review the plans. You can find really good and accurate comparison chart of the top web hosts. I find their reviews quite authentic. Apart from what my experience says, I also frequently check for updates and useful inputs from Webhostingbreak’s experts.

Is www.findbest-webhosting.com best place to find the best webhosting?

Review of top 10 web hosting providers. Top web hosting reviews, best web hosting awards, web host rating, web hosting articles and more. www.findbest-webhosting.com

I would not trust any of these types of sites, I find the best hosting service for price and quality is http://www.hostmonsterplus.com and which is why I’ve been using them for the last 4 years.

They have unlimited space and transfer.
They give you a free domain for life.
They have php and mysql if you ever use those.
You can also add as many domains (.com, .net, …) as you like so you can have many different sites for 1 hosting price.
They also give you free $50 Google Credits for advertising your site.

If you go with them and have any trouble making your site feel free to PM me, I have a lot of experience there.

Whatever you choose, the best luck to you.
