HostGator has been around for a long time and I get the impression that they care about their brand. Often when someone complains about a problem with the HostGator service or gives a bad review of HostGator on one of the big web hosting forums, you’ll see a HostGator rep jump in and try and solve their problem and assuage their frustration. I’ve seen this years ago and long before corporations became actively involved in social media to shore up their brands.
HostGator is a no shared cpanel web hosting provider that doesn’t try and dazzle you with new features every month. Their focus seems to be on providing a simple, solid service with responsive telephone customer support. The bandwidth and diskspace have been updated in the review to the current “unlimited” offering.
The highlight of our Hostgator review comes when the reviewer approaches customer support via chat and puts them on the spot. Little does the support rep know, his every move is being examined by a Clickfire reviewer. He pulls it off to the revewers satisfaction. There’s a happy ending and HostGator ends up getting the coveted and rare 5 out of 5 star rating. Did you feel the suspense there, too?
