How to find the webhost behind a domain name?
Posted on July 4th, 2010 by admin
I want to find the company that is hosting a particular domain name. I know about using whois, but if the person has a private registered domain name, or if they have their own customer servers, then how can i find out who is hosting their domain name?
You can use http://www.whoishostingthis.com/

I think a tracert should do the trick.
Open a command prompt windows start => cmd
Type in your command prompt "tracert http://www.yourdomain.com" (without the quotes)
and the last trace should tell you the webhost.
Have fun

Go to http://www.dnsstuff.com and type in the IP of the domain there. To find the IP of the domain, open a command prompt and type
ping http://www.domaintools.com
and hit enter. Replace domain.com with the actual domain.
You can also try looking up the site on http://www.domain.com that might give you some more information.
You can also look at the domain servers. That will give you a good start as to who to contact.
If you can give the domain name, I could probably find out more for you.

For example if you have .co.cc as domain, whois information can only be provided by .co.cc company.
