Web Hosting Stuffs

I recently had my domain through 1and1 switched into my name from a friend’s name who originally purchased it for me. My hosting for my website has been with E-Rice and now my site is not working. The domain isn’t "pointing" to the host … the worst part is my webpage email is not working and I may have correspondence from E-Rice in my inbox, but none of my mail will show. AND E-Rice doe snot have phone support OR a way for me to email without an account. I tried to create one and it just says I am invalid.

Does anyone have any experience with E-Rice webhosting? Contacting them like a phone number for one thing?

One more question: If I were to switch my host from E-Rice to 1 and 1 (my domain provider), would I be able to switch without contacting E-Rice (since I am having great issue in contacting them)?

Hope this isn’t too confusing …. this hosting / domain stuff is hardly my forte … so any help regarding this topic would be great.

Any bad web hosting service would trouble you for a long period. At first, try to choose a reliable service to get rid of the subsequent problems.

1and1 and Godaddy are good places just for registering domain names, not for web hosting services.
