Need info on webhosting?

Hi,
I would like to create a website with a domain name. I also would like to write my personal HTML code rather than using service provider’s predefined template/layouts. Do anyone of you know a service provider which can provide me some space to upload my own HTML files and also provide me with a domain name..? What is the typical cost and pros/cons..?
